LoginPress WordPress Login Customization & Security
In short
Here's the thing: LoginPress is how IPSense turns the default WordPress login into a branded, safer front door for client portals, dealer areas and member sites. The free plugin lets you customise the login page. The Pro add-ons bring in limit-login-attempts, hidden login URLs, CAPTCHA, social login and role-based redirects. It's got 200,000+ active installs and a 4.8 rating, which I think is pretty reassuring.

What is LoginPress?
When a client gives dealers, distributors or members a login, the standard WordPress screen often looks a bit unfinished. It also tends to attract brute-force attempts. LoginPress tackles both. It brands the login, registration and password-reset screens, and its add-ons tighten up security around them.
WPBrigade makes LoginPress. With the free version, you can customise logos, backgrounds, forms, buttons and messages. The Pro add-ons cover social login, limit login attempts, login redirects, hide login, auto login and login widgets. You'll also get CAPTCHA support (reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, Turnstile) and integrations with WooCommerce, LearnDash and BuddyBoss.
What LoginPress can do
Branded login screens
You can match the client's brand on the login, registration and password-reset pages, and add custom messages too.
Limit login attempts and CAPTCHA
These help slow down brute-force attacks and bots on public login forms.
Hide login URL
Move wp-login.php to a custom address. From what I've seen, that usually cuts down a lot of automated noise.
Social login and redirects
Let people sign in with Google or other accounts, then send each role to the right dashboard.
How IPSense uses LoginPress
Take client portals, like dealer price lists, partner resources or course areas. We set up LoginPress so users see the client's brand, log in with fewer steps and land on the right page. In my experience, it works best as a focused layer for the login itself, sitting alongside the client's main security plugin.
- Brand the login, registration and reset screens, and write clear messages.
- Turn on attempt limits, CAPTCHA and a custom login URL, in line with the site's security plugin.
- Set up role-based redirects and test the whole journey, including password reset.
Where LoginPress shines, and what to plan for
Where it shines
- It's a quick way to make portals look finished.
- The security add-ons are useful and focused on the login.
- Role-based redirects make the user journey smoother.
- It has a large install base and strong ratings.
What to plan for
- It overlaps with full security plugins, so try not to double up on settings.
- The security add-ons are in Pro.
- Hiding the login URL helps, but it's not a security strategy on its own.
Is LoginPress right for your business?
A good fit if…
- Your site has dealers, members, students or staff logging in.
- You want a branded, professional-looking login.
- Bots are hammering your login page.
We reach for another tool when…
- You need full firewall and malware scanning. In that case, keep a dedicated security plugin.
- Users need to submit content after they log in. That's where WP User Frontend Pro comes in.
- You need appointment logins for clients. Amelia's customer panel is usually a better match.
